Non-Surgical Face Lift (also called Thread Lift / PDO Lift / V Soft lift)
A non-surgical V Soft lift is essentially a non-invasive treatment requiring no general anaesthetic, and therefore has no downtime. The technology behind this approach was developed in Korea to create a v-shaped youthful appearance. PDO or polydioxenone threads or sutures (exactly the same type that are used in surgery) are embedded just under the skin or hypodermis, attached to an ultrafine needle. The thread itself is as thin as a hair. A number of threads of differing lengths and thicknesses are used in the different areas of the face to stimulate collagen production thereby reducing wrinkles, tightening the skin and to some extent, replace lost volume. Collagen stimulation is achieved by the threads in the skin which dissolve over a period of around 100 days, stimulating the body to produce its own collagen continuously.
This is a medium term treatment, and although an immediate result can be noticed, the effects will last to between 12 to 24 months. It is recommended that further ‘top-up’ be done at around the 9 month mark so as to prolong the effects of the treatment.
A PDO thread lift may be combined with various grades of filler and Botulinum to create the desired effect.
A full non-surgical face lift can be done using the threads; however certain targeted areas such as forehead, cheek, eye area, sagging neck, jowls and jaw lifts as well as the fat pad under the chin can be treated with this approach.
